Albuquerque Meals Truck Acknowledged as a Should Have by Yelp

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (AP) – Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales is on his way to become Albuquerque’s next mayor. Gonzales declared his candidacy on Monday in an official online campaign video. The Albuquerque-born sheriff says Mayor Tim Keller failed to improve the city. According to Gonzales, the violent crime rate has increased above the national average.

He says he will post proposals in the coming weeks to address issues such as homelessness and helping small businesses. Gonzales, a Democrat like Keller, was re-elected sheriff for a four-year term in 2018. Keller announced last month that he would run for mayor again. Two other candidates, Nicholas Bevins and Patrick Ben Sais, are also running. The town clerk’s office says all four intend to use public funds for their campaigns.
