APD Open Area officers rescue three hikers on the Albuquerque Path

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – Albuquerque police say a suspect in a murder last year killed a man after backing up in his car. Adelio Gallegos Jr., 41, was arrested near Central and San Mateo in connection with the January 25, 2021 murder.

According to police, the victim, Mike Guerra, tried to reverse into a green Infiniti. They say Gallegos got off the Infiniti and confronted Guerra, who called Gallegos “a punk”. At this point, according to police, Gallegos went back to his car, got a rifle and shot Guerra, killing him. Detectives found the Infiniti in a house in Bernalillo and Gallegos was taken into custody.
