ALBUQUERQUE, NM – With New Mexico health insurance enrollment ending on Sunday, residents who are still enrolling and seeking help can attend the Be Covered – Albuquerque event held at the Alamosa Community Center / Ted Gallegos on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Community Center, 6900 Gonzales SW.

As part of its ongoing campaign, Be Covered is partnering with community organizations to host a health and wellness fair to educate residents about the importance of insurance and provide information on how to enroll, officials said in a press release.

Nearly 200,000 people in New Mexico are uninsured, but more than 62% are eligible for some type of financial assistance, they said.

The Be Covered campaign provides nationwide public relations and education about enrollment in health insurance.

The community-based campaign is designed to help uninsured and underinsured people better understand the benefits of enrolling, identify their funding opportunities, and empower them to make informed healthcare decisions.

The campaign is an educational initiative sponsored by BCBSNM that works with community partners to provide educational materials and bilingual resources.
