Dave Bliss can be returning for a go to to Albuquerque on July 25th

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – He graduated from the University of New Mexico as one of the best when it comes to victory. Dave Bliss later found himself at a new school, Baylor, and was knee-deep in a scandal.

He will return to Albuquerque on July 25 as a guest speaker at the New Mexico High School Coaches Association’s Coaching Clinic. Bliss will talk about his new book, which tells how his life fell in tatters. The book is appropriately named “Fall from Grace”.

The event will take place in the MCM Elegante from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In New Mexico, Bliss won 246 games against 108 losses from 1989 to 1999. After leaving New Mexico, Bliss ended up in Baylor, where a scandal over the death of one of his basketball players cost him his job. He trained with Baylor from 1999 to 2003. The scandal resulted in his quitting basketball for two years and returning to the professional ranks to coach the Dakota Wizards.

He joined Allen Academy in Bryan, Texas in 2010 as Dean of Studies, Athletic Director and basketball coach. In 2015 he returned to college play and took the men’s basketball job at Southwest Christian, where he is currently a coach.
