A joint venture between Titan Development, Maestas Development Group and Alliance Residential has laid the foundation stone in Highlands North. The 92-unit parish is the second phase of The Highlands master plan in Albuquerque, NM and is expected to be completed in March 2020.

The project is located on the north corner of Central Avenue and Mulberry Streets along the central corridor of downtown on 12 acres and will include eight components. Highlands North will consist of one and two bedroom apartments in a four story building and community facilities such as a fitness center, pool, clubhouse and coffee bar.

Phase I included the Marriott SpringHill Suites hotel with 118 keys and began in March of this year. The $ 120 million development project also includes Highlands East, a 228-unit gated community, and Highlands Central Market, a 40,000-square-foot event space with grocery stores, restaurants, and meeting rooms.

“Highlands North will appeal to a new wave of renters looking for the total urban apartment building experience with all the amenities you would see in cities across the country,” said Josh Rogers, director of development for Titan Development, in a prepared statement.

When completed, the Highlands will create around 1,400 construction jobs and 550 permanent jobs. The project is one of the region’s major investments, and according to a recent outlook from Yardi Matrix Metro, it has translated into positive trends in both employment and rental growth.
