Shortly afterwards, police learned that several residents of a nearby apartment complex reported that another resident, Butler, had recently carried a rifle and “caused problems”.

The officers found Butler walking to a vehicle in the parking lot and arrested him. At least three people identified Butler as the man who had a rifle aimed at them as they drove past.

Butler was also arrested and charged on Monday after police said he headed a man “out of the blue” and “for no reason” at a Circle K gas station.
