Out of doors swimming pools shall be reopening in Albuquerque this Memorial Day weekend
This year the summer looks a bit more normal. Pools open up, as do employment opportunities – lifeguards are required.
“We always need lifeguards,” said Herbert. “So if you can swim, are 15 years old or older, and are a good swimmer, call the pool to get a lifeguard certification. It’s an excellent summer job. “
But pool safety is still important and promoted for lifeguards too.
“We always have to be respectful of the water and the most important thing parents can do for their children is never to take their eyes off them – nothing beats the supervision of the parents, even in a life-protected pool,” said Herbert.
Outdoor pools open on Saturday with a 75% capacity and indoor pools with a 50% capacity.
