‘Phrase With Writers’ Profit Affords Authors Mira Jacob, Kirsten Valdez Quade »Albuquerque Journal

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Albuquerque Public Library Foundation and Bookworks present “A Word With Writers” with authors Look jakob and Kirsten Valdez Quade at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 13th at the KiMo Theater, 419 E. Central.

Jacob is the author of The Sleepwalker’s Guide to Dancing, which was named one of the best books of 2014 by the Boston Globe. Much of the book is set in Albuquerque. Jacobs lived in Corrales and graduated from the Albuquerque Academy. She lives in New York City and teaches fiction at New York University.

Quade, the author of the Night at the Fiestas stories, was born in Albuquerque and spent many of her formative years in northern New Mexico. Her collection of stories was published in March.

Tickets to the event are $ 7. The theater’s first seven rows sell for $ 20 upfront. Tickets are available at the KiMo box office or online at kimotickets.com. The proceeds will benefit the foundation. The authors will sign books after the lecture and books will be available for purchase in the lobby of Bookworks.

AT TREASURE HOUSE: Author and former President of the University of New Mexico, Richard E. Peck, signs his New Mexico crime novels “Dead Pawn” and “Jackalope Ca $ ino” and his collection of newspaper columns “Traveling at My Desk,” from Jan. -4 today at Treasure House Books & Gifts, 2012 South Plaza NW in Old Town.

Saturday, June 13th, from 1pm to 1pm, Barbe Awalt will sign her children’s book “Don’t Touch This Book!” and “The Basic New Mexico Bucket List”. “Don’t Touch” is a humorous way of looking at books for very young children. Bucket List includes New Mexico art, Hispanic traditions, turquoise, Native American history, cowboys, museums, and adventure.

Larry Littlefield and Pearl M. Burns will discuss and sign their book “Wildflowers of the Northern and Central Mountains of New Mexico” from June 14th until 1pm in the Treasure House.

HARKNESS SIGNS: Deborah Harkness, author of “The Book of Life,” the final installment of her bestseller “All Souls Trilogy,” will air tonight at 7pm at the Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe and on Tuesday June 9th at 7pm appear in the new Central & Our Library, 8801 W.
