States ship the most individuals to New Mexico

The US population grew at the lowest rate in 120 years between 2019 and 2020 – just 0.35%, according to the US Census Bureau. But slow population growth didn’t stop many people from moving, as the western and southern states saw population increases while California and New York saw the sharpest decreases.

Stacker has compiled a list of the states that send the most people to New Mexico using data from the US Census Bureau. The states are ranked based on the number of people who moved from the state to New Mexico in 2019.

The 2019 National Movers Study found that Vermont, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, and South Carolina were the states with the most inbound moves. Read on to find out which states send the most people to New Mexico.
