The Albuquerque Century Rio Cinema will reopen on Saturday

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – Cinemark has announced that it will reopen its Century Rio 24 Plex and XD theater in Albuquerque on Saturday May 1st.

The theater will reopen with films like “Mortal Kombat”, “Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train”, “Godzilla vs. Kong”, “Nobody”, “Triumph” and more. The theater also offers comeback classics for private watch parties, including the films “Clue”, “Pitch Perfect”, “Knives Out”, “Spaceballs” and others.

Tickets for standard seasons and private watch parties are now available online and via the Cinemark app. You can book a private watch party to watch a movie of your choice with a group of up to 20 people, from $ 99 for comeback classics and $ 149 for new movies.

According to a press release from Cinemark, all theaters will have improved disinfection and safety measures. Employees receive training on new protocols and wear face masks while working. A wellness check-in is carried out before each shift.

Each theater also has a main cleaning and safety monitor that is responsible for safety standards, social distancing, cleanliness and hygiene. The company says theaters will have staggered show times and limited capacity to maximize social distancing.

Face masks are mandatory for all theater guests and may only be removed for eating and drinking in the auditoriums. After buying the tickets, the theaters blocked seats in addition to the parties.
