A joint venture between Titan Development, the Maestas Development Group and Alliance Residential has broken new ground in the northern highlands. The 92-unit community is the second phase of the Highlands Master Plan in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is expected to be completed in March 2020.

The project is located on the north corner of Central Avenue and Mulberry Streets along the central corridor in downtown on a 12 acre site and will include eight components. Highlands North will consist of one and two bedroom apartments in a four story building and public facilities such as a fitness center, pool, clubhouse and coffee bar.

Phase I included the Marriott SpringHill Suites hotel with 118 keys and laid the foundation stone this March. The $ 120 million development project will also include Highlands East, a 228-unit residential community, and Highlands Central Market, a 40,000-square-foot event space with food, dining and meeting space.

“Highlands North will appeal to a new wave of renters looking for the full urban apartment building experience with all the amenities you would see in cities across the country,” said Josh Rogers, development director for Titan Development, in a prepared statement.

After completion, around 1,400 construction jobs and 550 permanent jobs will be created in the Highlands. The project is one of the region’s major investments, and it is reflected in positive trends in both employment and rental growth, according to a recent outlook from the Yardi Matrix Metro.
