The British punk band Creeper is wanting ahead to the warped tour »Albuquerque Journal

It’s a sunny day in Southampton, England and Will Gould is enjoying the extra vitamin D.

The singer might as well get used to seeing the sun more.

Soon Gould will be traveling the US with his band Creeper as part of the Vans Warped Tour.

“In England we don’t have anything like Warped Tour,” he said in a recent telephone interview. “Many of our favorite bands have played the tour in the past. We are still shocked that we will take part in the tour this year. “

While Gould is overwhelmed by the tour, he realizes that he has to take off his black leather jacket.

“People keep telling me about the jacket,” he says with a laugh. “I bought a jacket without sleeves.”

Creeper, founded in 2014, is under contract with Roadrunner Records.

Gould includes Ian Miles, Hannah Greenwood, Sean Scott, Dan Bratton, and Oliver Burdett.

Creeper has released a couple of EPs and this year the band released their full-length debut album, “Eternity, in Your Arms”.

With the album released in March, Creeper is one of the most enthusiastic bands on the Warped Tour. You will perform on the larger stage at Full Sail University.

“It’s overwhelming to think about how far we’ve come,” says Gould. “It’s been a whirlwind since the album was released. We are constantly on the move and that is a great thing. “

Gould says the album took a couple of years to write about.

“We wanted the picture and the story to go together,” he says. “Then we had to think about how to publish it. We kept the album and the story a secret. We wanted everything to be a surprise. Now fans can listen to the entire album and go on a journey with the story. “

Although Gould would like to perform the new album in full, he finds that the Warped Tour is filled with 30-minute sets.

And the band hasn’t played a short set in years.

“It reminds me of our first beginnings,” he says. “We hope to do a version of our old sets. But we have become a very theatrical show. I think the way I see it in my head will carry over well into the warped set. “

Gould and his crew know that hot weather will be the norm for the tour.

He says there will be plenty of water to drink.

“The best part is touring your country,” he says. “It’s so big. In England it’s usually a couple of hours by car to get to a destination. In the States, we can drive eight hours to get to the next stop. We’ll see a lot of America.”
