The New Mexico Governor is intently monitoring the COVID-19 numbers

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – Watermelon Mountain Ranch is New Mexico’s largest no-kill shelter in north Rio Rancho. Over 175,000 animals have been rescued since its gates opened in 1996. This year Petsmart is hosting the National Adoption Weekend. The event is in partnership with Petsmart charities and the Watermelon Mountain Ranch. Sara Heffern, Executive Director of Watermelon Mountain Ranch, spoke about the event and a furry friend.

The national adoption weekend begins on Friday, July 23rd. The Watermelon Ranch is located in two Petsmarts with adoptable pets. Heffern says there will be dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens for adoption.
