The envelope contained $ 120 in cash, along with a note from the Ugly Sweater Elf.

Sanchez, a single mother of six, said she now has the money to buy Christmas presents.

“You have no idea how much hope has been restored for my children and me today,” Sanchez said.

A bystander also contacted KOB 4 and said he had also found money from the Ugly Sweater Elf – not far from the gas station – on a bank in Washington Park. It had the same card, along with a link to the Facebook page of the Ugly Sweater Elf that started in Colorado.

Sanchez said she plans to keep paying it.

“The children will choose a toy on their return from the new toys we get from the family and donate it to Goodwill or to local charities or thrift stores for someone else to have. We all talked in the car on the way there about what we’re going to do to give something back, “said Sanchez.

KOB 4 spoke to the Ugly Sweater Elf on Wednesday afternoon. He said that 12 more envelopes full of cash are being distributed in Albuquerque.

A tip: keep an eye out for gas stations and bus stops.
