When a trailer crashes in East Las Vegas, 1 is useless

A trailer crash in the Far Eastern Las Vegas Valley killed a man on Wednesday morning, police said.

The crash occurred at 8:35 a.m. on Wednesday near Pabco Road and Lake Mead Boulevard, about six miles east of Hollywood Boulevard.

Investigators believe the crash happened when a man driving a Honda Civic west on Pabco Road in 2016 crossed a double yellow line while “negotiating a bend in the road” and onto the path of a semi-trailer came driving east on Lake Mead Boulevard.

The Honda driver died on the scene, the police said. He is identified by the Clark County Coroner Office.

The 36-year-old man who drove the semi-trailer showed no signs of impairment and stayed at the scene of the accident, police said. He was taken to the university hospital with minor injuries.

The Honda driver’s death was the 31st traffic-related fatality investigated by Metro this year, police said.

Further information was not released immediately.
